Lain and Rei

He smiled and pulled her through the veil with him. Her body slipped through the bramble without even the slightest scratch. In fact, she'd probably not even feel the bramble as it was all just a glamour cast on the human world to avert their attention to the wall that had been placed.

As they crossed the veil, he silently introduced her to his world. The rolling hills of green, shadowed by a tall range of mountains further off.

He looked down upon her, a slight smile crossing his face as he dropped the shroud. Behind her, the door shut and the faint sound of the lock turning could be heard, and the lights from the store went dark.

He moved his hand from his cloak and brushed her cheek with the backs of his fingers. He could smell the bond wafting off of her, it was so strong.

"May I take you away?" he whispered softly, his violet eyes meeting hers with that mysterious glow in them.

He met her gaze and stilled in the darkness. He swallowed hard and forced himself to shroud into the darkness once more. He had wanted her to see him, but he just wanted to take her beyond the veil. She had to want to though, and he had hoped the coin would have compelled her enough. In his mind, he wondered if she would.

He continued to stand there and watch her. The 'Bonding' growing ever stronger. He tried to divert his gaze, but she would always bring it back to her.

Emrys watched as the night sky darkened slowly. He watched people walking to their cars, store fronts shutting down, and cars heading home for the evening.

The entire time since she'd had the coin, it had been sending off that resonating pulse.

Emrys spent a good portion of the afternoon in the village. He helped to gather things needed, and reach to the taller places some couldn't. Just after midday, he finished and left the village. He went back to the palace and grabbed his cloak once more, readying for his breach of the veil again.

"I hope she hasn't tried to cross over yet..." he told himself, checking his reflection in the mirror and straightening his clothes and hair.

Amyr clapped a hand on Emrys' shoulder and sighed.

"I'm sure she will figure it out soon enough." Amyr conceded. Emrys looked over at him and gave him a nod.

"I'm going to go get dressed and maybe head into town and see how things are going for the festivities." he sighed, running his hand into his long wavy black-blue hair. "Maybe I'll peak through the veil again tonight and see what is going on."

As the coin clanged on the floor, it was as if it waited to be picked back up. And when it wasn't, and this stranger male insisted upon their date, it's resonance became stronger. A wave of unease spewed forth from it and absorbed itself directly into the feet of the man. 'She said nooo~' There was no voice in his head, but these words would emanate with the uneasy feeling.

When the coin touched her skin, it began to lightly resonate. It started out so subtly, and as she got closer to the edge of town and nearer to the bramble, it resonated even more. It wasn't the most obvious thing. It didn't light up or anything, its was just like gentle waves that grew ever so slightly the closer to got.

Emrys finished his tea, listening to Amyr ramble on. He was always trying to convince him that his bond would come to him when it was time, but Emrys just didn't believe that. How do you reach beyond the veil, without going beyond the veil?

He sighed deep and put his cup down on the table.

"Thank you Amyr, but I will handle this. Don't worry, if she's really my bond, then I won't even need to return to the mortal realm." He gave a light smirk and then stood and started out to the garden off of the ground level terrace.
